Nick Langan, AmeriCorps VISTA Communications Specialist at Community Markets Inc., is serving a year-long term of service through West Virginia’s Promise Youth Alliance. Originally attending school for Film and Television, Nick answered a call to serve his community and spent nearly ten years in law enforcement, first in Maryland and then in Pennsylvania. In 2020 he left law enforcement to once again pursue creative endeavors, both in fiction and nonfiction writing and film. He loves West Virginia, and firmly believes the power of storytelling can be one of the most powerful tools to mobilize change and encourage action. Nick has served those in need as a police officer, and now looks forward to working with Community Markets Inc. to further their mission of feeding the hungry, supporting farmers, and increasing local food access. Nick lives in Berkeley Springs, WV with his wife and six children.
