Below are some of the positions we have that need help being filled for the market to help family’s like yours. Sign up today at St Isidore Market.

Help Community Markets Inc. provide local, fresh food to families in the Eastern Panhandle at our farmers market located at St. James Greater Catholic Church in Charles Town!

These roles include but are not limited to driving the trailer truck, assisting the trailer diver, packing preorders, helping set up the market, cashier, trailer packer and distributor, running orders, and assisting in market take down.

  • Trailer Driver – Responsible for driving a truck with the freezer trailer attached to it. This shift is every Wednesday from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Trailer Driver Assistant – Responsible for helping the driver navigate and setting up the freezer when it is in place. May need to drive the truck and trailer in certain occasions. This shift is every Wednesday from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Pre-Order Packer – As a Pre-Order Packer you would put together orders in the freezer that will go out at the market, ensuring all refrigerated items are accounted for. This shift is every Wednesday from11:30am to 3:30pm.
  • Set Up – Help setup the market, including placing tables out and setting up the food displays before the market opens. This is every Thursday from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
  • Cashier – Responsible for processing payments whether it be cash, check, or card. This shift is every Thursday from 4:45 to 6:30pm.
  • Trailer Packer and Distributor – You would be responsible for handing the orders off to the runners, adding the final products to the pre-orders, and compiling walk-up order. This sift is every Thursday from 4:45 to 6:30pm.
  • Runner – A Runner would move the orders from the trailer to those who order is called. This may include helping bring the order to their vehicle, as well as brining walkup orders to the trailer to be filled. This shift is every Thursday from 4:45 to 6:30pm.
  • Take down- Would help place the items of the market back in their boxes and pack up the tables to help bring them back to the office at the end of the market. This shift is every Thursday from 6:30 to approximately 8:30pm.

Help Community Markets Inc. provide locally-grown, fresh foods to families across West Virginia with YOUR volunteerism!

Community Markets Inc. also conducts Food Box Giveaways across 10 counties in West Virginia. Twice a month you could volunteer in the following ways:

  • Set up and Packing – Assist in setting up the giveaway as well as packing boxes of fresh, local food.
  • Distribution and Takedown – Assist in distributing food boxes and pack up the market when the event is over.
