The Program Manager position is full-time (40 hrs/wk) and requires in-office work or in the field (remote work is not the norm), reliable transportation, and a desire to make a lasting impact on thousands of West Virginians. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $40,019.20/year paid as $19.24/hour.
  • Health Insurance: Stipend for individual coverage (payable monthly) for medical, dental, and vision premiums or payable as a $3,000 annual bonus after three months of employment if not purchasing health insurance.
  • Retirement: Up to 3% matching contribution to an IRA account.
  • Personal Leave (PTO): 15 Personal Days & 10 Federal Holidays per year. PTO begins accruing immediately. 60 hours may be carried over annually.
  • Cell Phone Stipend: $30/month
  • Internet Service Provider Stipend: $35/month
  • Term Life/AD&D Stipend: $12/month
  • Mileage Reimbursement for certain work travel with prior approval.

Ideal CMI Program Manager Candidates

  • possess a desire to better our community through feeding food insecure families while supporting local farmers.
  • bring value to the organization daily through soliciting and securing support for CMI, whether monetary or in-kind donations, volunteers, mobile market sales, or other kinds of support.
  • are self starters who will take initiative and ownership of one’s duties and responsibilities.
  • are highly organized and have good project management skills.
  • are teachable, constantly trying to learn (avoiding complacency), and willing to admit mistakes then learn from them.
  • are flexible to meet the challenges and needs of the nonprofit any given day.
  • are comfortable communicating with the general public in a variety of ways and able to represent themselves and the organization in a professional and unifying manner.
  • exhibit effective & timely written and verbal communication, both internally with the team and externally to community partners, customers, and vendors.
  • are able to comfortably & safely drive a pick up truck and trailer (training available).
  • have the ability to work within the processes and parameters set by the organization to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • have the ability to adapt and pitch in on projects and programming as need arises.

Job Requirements, Desired Experience, & Duties

Job Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from the office as well as “in the field” for programming around the Eastern Panhandle.
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. and work on one’s feet in all weather conditions for consecutive hours.
  • Must be able to work in-office during normal office hours (Monday through Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm) with some, but less frequent, work hours on weekday evenings and weekends.
    REMOTE WORK IS NOT THE NORM.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. Citizen.

Job Duties & Desired Experience:

  • Assist Operations Manager with day-to-day nonprofit operations
  • Design, plan, evaluate, and execute programming.
  • Oversee the weekly mobile markets team and growth.
  • Contribute towards securing funding and resources to continue and grow the mission of Community Markets Inc.
  • Recruit, manage, and train volunteers.
  • Take on duties and tasks as the need arises.
  • Previous administrative and project management in a team environment experience desired.
  • Previous agriculture, local food, and retail experience desired.
