Find Community Markets Inc. at Small Farm Conference!

Hi Friends of Community Markets Inc.!

Besides running a Winter Mobile Farmers Market, what else should one do in February but attend the 2024 West Virginia Small Farm Conference next week in Charleston? Be sure to say hello to CMI’s Director, Mark Peiffer, while you’re there! CMI is always looking for more partners and opportunities around WV to feed hungry Appalachian families and support our WV farmers! Will you be in Charleston next week? Let me know so I can look for you!

Community Markets Inc. is excited to be represented at SFC for the second year in a row (weather permitting)! Since the last conference, CMI has fed hundreds of hungry families in a total of 10 WV counties including the Eastern Panhandle and Potomac Highlands: Jefferson, Berkeley, Morgan, Grant, Hardy, Hampshire, Mineral, Pendleton, Tucker, and Randolph.

If you are a farmer in one of these counties, CMI wants to be in touch to potentially purchase from you in bulk for an upcoming Food Box Giveaway in or nearby your county. We can work out details once we’ve made contact. If you’re a farmer in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties or you deliver to Jefferson County, CMI may be able to purchase from you up to weekly for our mobile farmers markets, one of which, the St. Isidore Market, is open year round.

Are you a farmer or local food/local ag organization in a different WV county? Let’s still chat! CMI wants to grow its network statewide since serving all of WV is a long term goal of ours!

Please pass this on to anyone who may be interested in this information!
